ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT
Advisement is required each semester for all CTVA majors before being allowed to register in any CTVA classes.
Use the list below to identify if you need to meet with your major department and/or the Student Resource Center (SRC)/EOP prior to registration each semester. The Student Resource Center/EOP is located in Nordhoff Hall, Room 135. For news and information, go to their website at www.csun.edu/~srceop/main.htm or call (818) 677-2024. Student Level (units earned)
1st semester SRC/EOP -- Advisement Required
2nd semester (0-30 units) -- SRC/EOP Advisement Required
3rd semester (30-45 units)--Department advisement recommended, not required (registration not subject to an advisement hold as long as student is in good standing)
4th semester (45-60 units) -- Continuing Pre-CTVA in good academic standing (regardless of number of units completed): Department advisement recommended, not required
5th semester (60-75 units) - CTVA students who have entered their option: Major advisement required, students meet with a full-time faculty member from their option, must meet with faculty to have advisement hold cleared by CTVA office
6th semester (75-90 units) -- CTVA students who have entered their option: Major advisement required, students meet with a full-time faculty member from their option, must meet with faculty to have advisement hold cleared by CTVA office
7th semester (90-105 units) -- CTVA students who have entered their option: Major advisement required, students meet with a full-time faculty member from their option, must meet with faculty to have advisement hold cleared by CTVA office
8th semester (105-120 units) -- CTVA students who have entered their option: Major advisement required, students meet with a full-time faculty member from their option, must meet with faculty to have advisement hold cleared by CTVA office
First-time tranfers -- Department advisement highly recommended, not required
EOP students (0-59 units) -- SRC/EOP Required, if in option, Major advisement required (if an EOP student is Pre-CTVA, they cover the major at the SRC/EOP office)
EOP students (60+ units) -- SRC/EOP Required, if in option, Major advisement required (if an EOP student is Pre-CTVA, they cover the major at the SRC/EOP office)
Probation students (regardless of units) -- SRC/EOP Advisement Required & Department Advisement Required
Contract students (regardless of units) -- SRC/EOP Advisement Required & Department Advisement Required
Disqualified students (non-matriculating) -- SRC/EOP Advisement Required
